Chrysler Groups' Jason Vines to Emcee 25th Anniversary of IABC/Detroit Renaissance Awards
Detroit, Mich., May 15, 2006 - The results of the 2006 IABC/Detroit 25th Anniversary Renaissance Awards are here and it's time to celebrate! Join your industry peers as IABC/Detroit recognizes best practices in communication management, marketing, public relations, writing and art and design. This yearÕs banquet begins with a wine reception at 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, at the VisTaTech Center, located on the campus of Schoolcraft College in Livonia.
Jason Vines, vice president of Chrysler Group Communications and 2005 IABC/Detroit Communicator of the Year award recipient, will serve as this year's emcee. Vines first joined Chrysler in 1983, specializing in labor economics and collective bargaining. In 1989, he joined the Chrysler public relations staff and held a series of product, marketing, safety, environmental, advanced technology and international public relations positions. Today, Vines is responsible for the Chrysler Group's corporate and product communications worldwide, as well as internal communications.
"As we celebrate this milestone, we would like to recognize IABC/Detroit members for their outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the profession," said Theodore G. Coutilish, president of IABC/Detroit. "They have truly set a standard of success in our industry that is sure to last another 25 years."
Since 1981, IABC/Detroit's Renaissance Awards competition has become the area's premier awards program, celebrating excellence in business communication. This year's program, which received more than 200 entries, encompasses more than 30 categories, divided into six disciplines. Additionally, IABC/Detroit will present the Communicator of the Year award to an outstanding professional for their contribution to business communication through the practice and encouragement of professionalism and integrity in communications excellence.
